Abruzzo’s Torre Zambra is a sustainable winery known for its DOC Montepulciano d’Abruzzo blend. The winery is surrounded by the hills of Villamagna, with the region’s microclimate, proximity to the sea and mountains making it the perfect spot to create red wines with long aging potential. It is also surrounded by clay soils that are rich in nutrients, resulting in a complex and aromatic flavor experience.
Torre Zambra believes in the “philosophy of spontaneous fermentation” where “careful agronomic operations make it possible to ensure a generous amount of “native yeasts” to reach the cellar, where they engage in a natural transformation process.” This process creates a unique aroma that varies from bottle to bottle, with each wine harvest relying on nature itself.
Torre Zambra’s DOC Montepulciano d’Abruzzo wine is classified as 100% Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, is harvested every year in the early weeks of October, and is aged in concrete vats for 12 months and in bottles for 3 months. An easy-drinking yet complex wine, the DOC Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is rich in perfume-like aromas which are a direct result of Torre Zambra’s surrounding landscape.
