The Google Find My Device network is being updated with a new safety feature to help users feel more secure when it comes to unknown trackers being used to follow their moves. The feature will work by notifying Android users when an unknown tracker has been separated from its original owner and moving along with them. Users can simply tap the notification on their device to be provided with a map of where the tracker was detected to be following them, while also enabling them to play a sound to locate exactly where it is.
The updates to the Google Find My Device network will work passively in the background, but can also be prompted for immediate use by using the Scan Now function in the Safety & Emergency settings.
